'An afternoon of nest box checking'.......

After a successful morning at the Dotterel hot spot of Garreg Lwyd myself and Colin Richards spent an afternoon at a western oak wood on the Breconshire side of the upper Swansea Valley checking nest boxes, a site that Colin has monitored for several years.
We checked 16 in total and all but 3 were occupied with either eggs or young at various stages of their development.
Boxes were occupied by Pied Flycatcher, Nuthatch, Great Tit and Blue Tit, unfortunately we didn't find one being used by Common Redstart.
