One day soon....

One day soon, I may attempt to work out my year list from memory. I honestly haven't kept notes. I know I've missed lots of fairly easy ones: Barwit, Gropper, Garden Warbler, Merlin, Eider, Slav, Razorbill, Puffin spring to mind. Equally, I've seen some good rarities: Black Throated Thrush, Semi P, Little Auk, Montys, G O bird etc So who knows, or indeed cares....

Damn and blast! Did you have to remind us of golden oriole!

;-)

I'm upto 221 now, with yellow-browed warbler and Leach's storm-petrel being nice late surprises. I've missed a few 'easy' ones - whinchat, puffin and of course, long-billed murrelet. Crane and golden pheasant are absent too.

I've also only heard tawny owl and grasshopper warbler. Given the mild wet whether, perhaps jack snipe and smew will elude me too. Though a trip to slimbridge over the holiday should see white-fronted goose ticked.
