Pembrokeshire Visit - 27th August 2023

Whilst home from the caravan myself and fellow birder/togger Dave Gilbert decided to make a visit to Pembrokeshire on Sunday 27th August.

Some good birds had been reported, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Llangwm, a Wryneck north of Haverfordwest and the Greater Short-Toed Lark remained at Dale Airfield.

We spent an hour at Llangwm but to no avail as the bird had seemingly departed not having been seen since the day before.

We decided to give the Wryneck a miss as it would have been nigh on impossible to relocate.

We pushed on to Dale and found some nice common waders on The Gann which were quite confiding enabling us both to get some nice photos.

We then drove up to the airfield where we managed to relocate the Greater Short-Toed Lark which was a 'lifer' for Dave.

We both managed some reasonable 'record' shots which I've included in my previous post of 24th August.

Below are some photos of the waders which were quite confiding.......
