Willow Tits - Llynfi Valley First visit of 2021

I made my first visit of 2021 yesterday to our local feeding station and there was at least one Willow Tit visiting the seed feeders.

Also present were Great, Blue, Coal and Long-tailed Tits, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, Treecreeper, Robin, Blackbird and Great Spotted Woodpecker.

I had hoped for a brighter day but the light was dismal hence a high ISO, I did though come away with a few reasonable shots.........

Willow Tits : Llynfi Valley - Last visit of 2020

I made a couple of visits on 29th and 31st December 2020 to the feeding station and had two Willow Tits frequenting the feeders, we have a new feeding station within the wood which the birds are now using in good numbers with at least two Willow Tits using the feeders.

Unfortunately the original feeding station which is far more visible as it is alongside a path has been subjected to some vandalism by youngsters and the birds are now favouring the new station.

The new station as it is surrounded by trees is more of a challenge with light and on my visit of 29th December the light was abysmal and I had to resort to a stupidly high ISO in order to get a reasonable shutter speed.

A couple of nest boxes have been put up so fingers crossed they may get used and we'll be lucky enough to get proof of breeding in Spring 2021.....
